Club Med Bintan Island is one of the most beautiful resorts I have had the good fortune to stay at. The staff are friendly, the facilities are fantastic, and the views… just wow!

Club Med, our partner, is the leader in all-inclusive holidays which means resort activities, food, drinks, and more are included in your stay. Should you wish to try one of the additional excursions, the team make this very easy. I had a chat to Yoko who told me about some of the excursions they offer. Yoko is helpful, knowledgeable, and so full of energy. He will make sure you find the right excursion for you. In this video below, he shares two types of excursions which can be taken from the resort.

Earlier this week our CN&CO team enjoyed an excursion from the resort. We met at the boat house where we put on sunscreen and left our shoes in the sand. We climbed onto a speed boat for a ride further out into the South China Sea. We had the wind whipping through our hair and across our faces while Dhika and his team told us about local fishing boats, the surrounding islands, and what we were going to see. It was educational, amazing, relaxing, and so much fun!

We found a place to stop where we were able to enjoy water sports such as snorkelling and stand up paddling. We also just swam until our fingers and toes were all wrinkly. It was a truly wonderful day out at sea with team mates, good people, and the beautiful blue sea. We then cruised further out enjoying ocean views and seeing more of Indonesia. We stopped for a tasty fish braai (or a barbecue as they call it here) near a local market where we enjoyed crab, squid, fish, beef, steamed rice, salads, two types of chilli, and more. After the meal, we were all far too full to move.

We eventually got ourselves up and back on the boat for the scenic ride home. What a great day trip!

Scroll through the photos below for some highlights. You can also see more highlights from our trip on our company social media and on the hashtag #ClubMedSA.

I would recommend this is a day trip for a group holiday to Club Med Bintan.

There is also some fantastic travel inspiration on the Club Med blog with information on where to go, and how you can exchange-rate-proof your holiday with Club Med. Follow all the action on social media using #ClubMedSA for photos from a number of Club Med resorts, shared by South Africans on their travels.
